What is a major cultural project; how could you describe it?

A majos cultural project is far-reaching and widespread throughout society. Foundation funding has a clear added value for the community’s activities and its actors. The effects of the foundation’s funding on the project/activity can be demonstrated. A major cultural project can have a local starting point, but the previous boundary conditions must be met in this case as well.

How much self-financing is required?

A clearly defined self-financing share indicates the community’s own commitment to the project. The Foundation has not defined a minimum for the self-financing share.

The application form asks for the following: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE Major Cultural project FUNDING ENDS?

Take a moment to look ahead a few years: When the project ends, what has been achieved and why is it important? Does the operation need further funding and how is it organized? Who will be responsible for the operation in the future? Prepare to answer these questions already at the application stage.

CAN A NEWLY ESTABLISHED ASSOCIATION APPLY FOR  A GRANT?

A newly founded association can apply for a grant. If, at the time of application, you do not have an activity report and financial statements confirmed by auditors, please attach another comprehensive, free-form explanation of your organization’s finances and operations.

WHAT FORM IS THE MANDATORY ATTACHMENT “Confirmation of interest from partners PARTICIPATING IN THE PROJECT”?

With the confirmation of interest, you confirm that the partners you mentioned in the application commit to the project. If there are several partners, attach all confirmation of interest in one attachment file (pdf). The content format of the document is free (e.g. e-mail as a pdf-file).

What things should be included in a GOOD WORK PLAN?

Make sure that you answer the major cultural projects evaluation criteria in the work plan. Take time to think about basic questions such as: why the project is being done, what added value the activity produces, who/who will benefit from it and how the activity radiates to the environment. The work plan is approximately five pages long. Use clear, common language.

CAN A FOREIGN UNIVERSITY APPLY FOR A GRANT WHEN IT IS ABOUT A COOPERATION BETWEEN A FINISH AND A FOREIGN UNIVERSITY?

We recommend that a Finnish university acts as the applicant, when it comes to cooperation between a foreign and a Finnish university.

I CAN’T SEND THE APPLICATION. THE SERVICE STATES THAT I’M MISSING AN ATTACHMENT.

Sending the application requires that you have attached all the mandatory attachments required in your application on the “Attachments” tab. Check that all attachments are included and you have selected the type of attachment that describes it from the menu above for each attachment.

Ei voi. Säätiö edellyttää, että hakijalla on hakuvaiheessa osoittaa hakemukseen vaadittavat liitteet.

I DO NOT HAVE THE mandatory ATTACHMENT within THE APPLICATION period. CAN THE ATTACHMENT BE subbitted LATER?

The Foundation requires that the applicant must provide the mandatory attachments to the application within the application phase. The Foundation will not accept incomplete or late applications or their appendices.

I ALREADY SENT MY APPLICATION, BUT I NOTICED AN ERROR. CAN I STILL EDIT THE APPLICATION?

The application can be modified when the status of the application is “In progress”. Within the application period, the sending of the application can be canceled and the application can be returned for editing by opening the sent application and pressing “Cancel sending the application to the Alfred Kordelin Foundation”. The information in the application will not be lost, even if you cancel the submission of the application. Make the desired changes, remember to save and submit the application again. The application has been sent when its status is “Sent” in the application list.

I CANNOT SAVE ATTACHMENTS OR CHANGES TO THE APPLICATION FORM

Check that the status of your application is “In progress”. Only an incomplete application can be edited. If you have accidentally sent your application, you can cancel the sending using the instructions in section 4. Please note that the application can only be edited during the application period.
