Grants

The Alfred Kordelin Foundation supports science, art, and public education. Each year, we use more than six million euros to fullfill our purpose. The Foundation’s different forms of support complement one another and enable long-term work.

The Kordelin Foundation promotes breakthroughs in knowledge and culture – new models of thinking and action that build a better future. The Foundation’s different forms of support make it possible to develop a project into a long-term endeavor spanning several years. We seek to create vibrant and self-supporting cultural industries that enrich society in a sustainable manner.

In addition to project grants, the Foundation awards personal grants. These focus on personal breakthroughs: the professional development of individuals in science and the arts, their distinction, and career progression. The grants provide uninterrupted time for work and support long-term scientific and artistic endeavors.

Our grants have two application periods: in January, applications are open for Major Cultural Projects as well as for grants from City Funds and Dedicated Funds. In August, applications are open for grants in science, art, and public education.

On the accompanying pages, you will find our grant descriptions and instructions for applicants, grant recipients, and referees.
