The Solutions Fund Effekt

The Solutions Fund Effekt (Ratkaisurahasto Effekt Oy) supports and finances social projects with measurable, long-term results. The fund was established jointly by the Alfred Kordelin Foundation, the Foundation Brita Maria Renlunds minne sr (BMR Foundation), and StartMore Social Impact HUB.

The Solutions Fund provides funding such as low-interest loans, as well as networks and expert support to help organisations develop and expand their work. Eligible applicants include social enterprises, research groups, arts and cultural organisations and non-profit entities. Each project receives a concrete, measurable impact goal, and funding is directed toward reaching that goal. Its initial focus is on children and youth, as well as cultural and educational initiatives.

Post Doc Pool

The Foundations’ Post Doc Pool is a grant fund established by member foundations of the Finnish Foundations and Funds Association to promote internationalization among researchers. The pool’s grant application is held twice a year: spring application 1–31 January and autumn application 15 August–15 September.

Grants from the pool are intended for researchers who have recently completed their doctorate and are going abroad from Finland for at least one academic year. For well-founded reasons, shorter research periods abroad of at least six months can also be supported, and complementary funding may be awarded.

New Classics Fund

The New Classics – Nya klassiker Fund, established in 2022 by the government and four foundations, supports established professionals in the arts sector in developing their work and growth opportunities. Support is targeted alternately to performing arts and visual arts professionals. The application period is annually 1–15 September.

The fund encourages new forms of cross-disciplinary collaboration and aims to increase the life cycle, audience, circulation and visibility of works and productions.

The fund was established jointly by the Ministry of Education and Culture and four foundations: the Alfred Kordelin Foundation, the Finnish Cultural Foundation, Svenska Kulturfonden, and the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation.
