The Alfred Kordelin Foundation’s Major Cultural Projects, as well as grants from the City Funds and Dedicated Funds, were open for applications in January. We warmly thank all applicants. Decisions will be communicated to applicants in April.
The Major Cultural Projects tackle societal challenges through the perspectives of science, art, and public enlightenment. The projects provide concrete solutions and create new models of operation.
In the January 2026 call, 292 applications were received. The number of applications increased significantly compared to the previous year, by nearly 25%. In 2025, 234 applications were received.
Applications are evaluated in three pools. Applicants select the pool to which their application is assigned. Of the applications received, 46 were submitted to the science, 168 to the arts, and 78 to public education. In addition, the foundation received six applications concerning Bridge Funding.
