Nearly 2,000 applications submitted in the August call – science applications increased significantly
The Alfred Kordelin Foundation’s August grant call closed on Monday, August 31, at 4:00 p.m. The Foundation received a total of 1946 applications: 552 in science, 974 in the arts, and 420 in public education. Applicants will receive the decisions in November.
New Classics fund, Application period 1.–15.9.2026
Grants from the New Classics fund are awarded in alternate years to organisations working in the performing arts and the visual arts. In this application round, the focus is on the visual arts. Funding increases the visibility of the visual arts and enables arts organisations to further develop their activities.
Statements for Science Grant Applications – Deadline 31 August
The Alfred Kordelin Foundation’s Science grants are open for applications from 15 to 31 August 2026. Please note that an optional statement must be submitted through the Foundation’s online statement system by 31 August at 4:00 p.m. (Finnish time). Statement is not mandatory.

The Post Doc Pool, Application period 15.8.–15.9.2026
The grants awarded from Säätiöiden post doc -pooli are intended for scholars, who have recently completed their doctoral degree and wish to conduct research abroad. The Autumn application round is open from 15th August to 15th September.

The Kordelin Foundation’s grants for Science, Arts, and Public education are open for applications from 15 to 31 August. Information sessions about the grants will be held in August.
Office Opening Hours During the Summer Months
The office of the Alfred Kordelin Foundation is closed in July. Payment requests for the summer months should be made well in advance, no later than 16 June. We wish everyone a peaceful and relaxing summer!

Call for applications to the New Classics fund opens in September
New Classics funding increases the visibility of the visual arts and enables arts organisations to further develop their activities. Applications to the New fund will once again open in September 2026.
512 Applications received in the January Grant call
The Alfred Kordelin Foundation’s Major Cultural Projects, as well as grants from the City Funds and Dedicated Funds, were open for applications in January. We warmly thank all applicants. Decisions will be communicated to applicants in April.
