Office Opening Hours During the Summer Months

The office of the Alfred Kordelin Foundation is closed in July. Payment requests for the summer months should be made well in advance, no later than 16 June. We wish everyone a peaceful and relaxing summer!

Grants for Science, Arts and Public Education Open for Applications in August, first Grant Info in June

The Kordelin Foundation’s grants for science, art, and public education are open for applications 15–31 August. The foundation’s funding aims to support long-term and goal-oriented work and to address societal challenges.

Call for applications to the New Classics fund opens in September

New Classics funding increases the visibility of the visual arts and enables arts organisations to further develop their activities. Applications to the New fund will once again open in September 2026.

The Alfred Kordelin Foundation’s Major Cultural Projects, as well as grants from the City Funds and Dedicated Funds, were open for applications in January. We warmly thank all applicants. Decisions will be communicated to applicants in April.

In January, applications are open for the Major Cultural Projects, as well as for the City Funds and the Gust. Komppa Fund grants. The application period opens in the grant system on Thursday, January 15, and closes on Saturday, January 31 at 4:00 p.m. Finnish time.

The Gust. Komppa Fund awards grants in the field of chemistry. From the beginning of 2026, the fund’s grants will be larger than before, and the focus areas of the grants have been clarified.

Foundations establish a new company: Support for child and youth work and culture through impact first funding

The Solutions Fund Effekt (Ratkaisurahasto Effekt Oy) is a newly established company that supports and finances social projects with measurable, long-term results. Its initial focus is on children and youth, as well as cultural and educational initiatives.

We are seeking Major Cultural Projects aiming for breakthroughs that support our goal of creating a more diverse, more skilled, and more international Finland. Major Cultural Projects are our key projects that tackle societal challenges through the perspectives of science, art, and public enlightenment.

3.5 million euros for the arts, science, and public education from the Alfred Kordelin Foundation

The Alfred Kordelin Foundation has been awarded 3.5 million euros to promote science, the arts, and public education, by awarding grants to 69 applicants. Personal grants awarded by the foundation are 45,000 euros each, and funding for projects ranges from 50,000 to 100,000 euros. The number of applications increased significantly compared to the previous year.
