The office’s summer opening hours and grant payments in the summer

The Alfred Kordelin Foundation’s office will be closed for the month of July. We kindly ask you to make the payment request for summer no later than June 16. We will process requests after this next time in August.

Unique sculpture exhibition arises in Kultaranta – garden features works by seven artists

The Office of the President of the Republic of Finland and the Alfred Kordelin Foundation are organising a sculpture exhibition at Kultaranta’s park in Naantali, Finland, from 30 May to 31 August 2025. The theme of the exhibition is ‘Layers’ and it features works by seven contemporary sculptors who work with wood and stone in particular. The exhibition is open to visitors during guided tours and open hours.

Changes to Our Grants – August Call for Applications Published

The Alfred Kordelin Foundation’s grants for science, art, and public education have been renewed. The foundation’s funding aims to support long-term and goal-oriented work and to address societal challenges. 

Post Doc Pool spring application round – 24 new grants awarded

The grants awarded from Säätiöiden post doc -pooli are intended for scholars, who have recently completed their doctoral degree and wish to conduct research abroad from Finland for at least six months. On 24th April 2025 the Post Doc Pool foundations awarded some 1.22 million euro to 24 post-doctoral scholars.

The Alfred Kordelin Foundation’s Major cultural projects provide solutions to societal challenges. In the 2025 application round four major cultural project grants were awarded, totaling 960,000 euros.

January 2025 Grant Applications are open

In January, funding is available for Major Cultural Projects—two-year initiatives—as well as smaller grants from the foundation’s city and dedicated funds. Applications close on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 4:00 PM Finnish time.
