Grants for Science, Arts and Public Education Open for Applications from August 15 to 31

The Alfred Kordelin Foundation will award a total of €3.5 million in its August grant call. The grants for science, art, and public education have been renewed, and the application criteria have changed. Grant-specific information sessions will be held starting August 11.

Foundation’s grants for science, art, and public education have been renewed.  The awarded amounts are now larger, and the grant periods longer. There are also changes in the focus areas of the grants:

  • Science grants are awarded to recent PhD graduates and post-doctoral researchers at the early stages of their career.
  • Grants for the arts are awarded both to private individuals and collectives. Grants are awarded for the different artistic fields every other year. In 2025, grants are available for visual arts, music, architecture and applied arts.
  • Public education grants are awarded to individuals and collectives for projects which strengthen the role of research and expertise-based knowledge. The Foundation supports broader projects, such as series of articles, publications and related events. Grants are not awarded for individual publications or articles.

Application Process

The application period begins on Friday, August 15 and ends on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 16:00 (Finnish time). Grant applications can be prepared and sent in the grant online service only during the application period. Applications cannot be edited after the application period has ended.
