On 24th April 2025 the Post Doc Pool foundations awarded some 1.22 million euro to 24 post-doctoral scholars.
The grants awarded from Säätiöiden post doc -pooli are intended for scholars, who have recently completed their doctoral degree and wish to conduct research abroad from Finland for at least six months. The grants are determined flexibly in accordance with the applicant’s needs. The research periods vary from 6 months up to 24 months.
The Alfred Kordelin Foundation is involved in the pool. In this round of applications, the foundation awarded one grant. The grant was granted to PhD Ryan Manhire – congratulations! During the current three-year-period 2025-2027 there are thirteen foundations involved in the pool. They are Ella and Georg Ehrnrooth Foundation, Emil Aaltonen’s Foundation, Alfred Kordelin Foundation, the Foundation for Economic Education, Päivikki and Sakari Sohlberg Foundation, Finnish Academy of Science and Letters, Finnish Cultural Foundation, the Finnish Medical Foundation, Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland, the Society of Swedish Literature in Finland, Finnish Foundation for Technology Promotion, Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation and the Ulla Tuominen’s Foundation. The foundations allocate altogether 3.2 million euro to postdoctoral scholars each year.
The Pool’s next application round will take place from 15 August until 15 September 2025, when some 1.6 million euro will be given in grants. The results of this round will be published by December 2025.
